| Type | Statutory Recall (government-mandated recall) |
| Date filed | December 12, 2019 |

| Production period | July 2019 — August 30, 2019 |
| Vehicles affected | 9,437 units |
Defect
In the electric parking brake system, the crimp terminals at the motor wiring connections inside the actuator are insufficiently crimped, or the motor commutator and brushes are improperly manufactured. When driving vibration temporarily increases contact resistance within the motor, the motor circuit disconnection detection signal becomes erratic, causing the VSA system to detect an anomaly and register a fault. As a result, warning lamps and warning messages illuminate, and the parking brake may fail to apply or may become impossible to release.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the left and right electric parking brake assemblies with corrected parts and reprogram the VSA modulator motor circuit disconnection detection software.
