Defect

In the evaporative emission control system, incorrect routing instructions for the canister charge tube allow the tube to contact the exhaust pipe on some vehicles, causing it to char. Continued use allows driving vibration to damage the tube, leading to evaporative fuel vapor leaks. In the worst case, this may result in a vehicle fire.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, inspect the routing of the canister charge tube. If incorrectly routed, replace the tube with a new unit and re-route it correctly.

状況

燃料蒸発ガス抑止装置において、キャニスタチャージチューブの配策作業指示が不適切なため、当該チューブがエキゾーストパイプに接触して炭化するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、走行振動等で当該チューブが損傷し、燃料蒸発ガスが漏れ、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、キャニスタチャージチューブの配策状態を点検し、誤った配策の場合、当該チューブを新品に交換し、正規に配策する。
