Defect
The stop switch positioning groove in the brake lever bracket is improperly dimensioned. As a result, the stop switch may repeatedly swell and contract due to water exposure, deforming until it is pushed to the end of the bracket's positioning groove. If this occurs, the brake light may remain illuminated even when the brake lever is released.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the brake lever bracket with a corrected part.
