Defect

On heavy-duty tractors equipped with a combined leaf and air suspension system, the leaf stopper is made of an incorrect material, preventing it from adequately absorbing the load when the leaf spring contacts the stopper during events such as crossing a raised road feature. This concentrates excessive load on the stopper mounting shaft. Continued use can cause fatigue fracture of the shaft, allowing the stopper and shaft to fall from the vehicle and create a hazard to other road users.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the leaf stopper with the corrected part. Also replace the shaft, nut, and washer with new units.

状況

大型トラクタのリーフ・エア併用式サスペンションにおいて、リーフ用ストッパの材質が不適切なため、段差乗り越え時等でリーフとストッパが接触した際にストッパで十分荷重を吸収できず、ストッパ固定用シャフトに過大な荷重が加わることがある。そのため、使用過程で当該シャフトが疲労折損し、ストッパおよびシャフトが脱落することで、他の交通の妨げとなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、リーフ用ストッパを対策品に交換する。また、シャフト、ナット、ワッシャを新品に交換する。
