Defect
On light trucks and buses, the grease inside the alternator pulley has insufficient durability. Prolonged operation at predominantly low engine speeds causes the grease to deteriorate prematurely, leading to pulley damage. In the worst case, the pulley may detach from the alternator.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, install a drop-prevention protector on the alternator pulley and replace the pulley with a corrected/revised part. Because corrected/revised parts require lead time to prepare, vehicles will first be inspected: pulleys showing abnormalities will be replaced immediately with corrected/revised parts, and pulleys showing no abnormalities will be replaced with corrected/revised parts as soon as parts become available.

状況
小型トラック・バスにおいて、発電機用プーリー内部のグリスの耐久性が不足しているため、エンジンの低回転領域を主体に使用を続けると、グリスが早期に劣化して当該プーリーが破損することがある。そのため、最悪の場合、当該プーリーが脱落するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、発電機用プーリーに落下防止プロテクタを装着するとともに、当該プーリーを対策品に交換する。 なお、対策品の準備に時間を要する為、当面の間、当該プーリーを点検し、異常が認められた場合は対策品に交換し、異常が認められなかった場合は、準備が整い次第、対策品に交換する。
