Defect
The engine control ECU contains an improperly designed control program for engine idling conditions. If the output signal from the crankshaft angle sensor, which monitors engine rotational status, experiences a temporary disturbance or momentary interruption, the ECU may fail to execute ignition and fuel injection correctly. This causes unstable engine operation and, in the worst case, may result in an engine stall.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the engine control software to the corrected specification.

状況
エンジン制御ECUにおいて、アイドリング時の制御プログラムが不適切なため、エンジン回転状態を検知するクランク角センサーの出力信号に一時的な乱れや瞬断が発生すると、点火および燃料噴射を適正に行えないことがある。そのため、エンジン回転が不安定になり、最悪の場合、エンストに至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、エンジン制御プログラムを対策仕様に書き替える。
