Defect

On vehicles equipped with an idling stop function, the engine control program in the engine ECU is incorrect, causing the catalytic converter deterioration diagnostic to malfunction. As a result, the warning lamp may fail to illuminate even when the catalytic converter has deteriorated.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, reprogram the engine control unit with the corrected software.
