Defect
The generator's stator coil has insufficient heat resistance. When the coil reaches high temperatures, the wire insulation coating may be damaged, causing a partial short circuit within the coil. This reduces the generator's output, and continued use may result in insufficient battery charging. In the worst case, the engine may stall while driving and be unable to restart.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, the stator coil will be replaced with a corrected part. On V-Strom models, both the stator coil and the rotor will be replaced with corrected parts.

状況
発電機において、ステータコイルの耐熱性が不足しているため、当該コイルが高温になるとコイル線被膜が損傷しコイルの一部が短絡することがある。そのため、発電量が少なくなり、そのまま使用を続けると、バッテリが充電不足となり、最悪の場合、走行中にエンジンが停止して再始動ができなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ステータコイルを対策品と交換する。 Vストロームについては、ステータコイルに加えロータも対策品に交換する。
