Defect
The airbag control unit contains an improperly designed startup program. If the vehicle crosses a road irregularity immediately after engine start on rough terrain, the rollover detection sensor's zero-point calibration may shift. This can cause the system to incorrectly identify normal vehicle lean as a rollover event, triggering inadvertent deployment of the curtain airbag and seat belt pretensioner.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the airbag control unit with one containing a corrected system startup program.

状況
エアバッグコントロールユニットにおいて、起動プログラムが不適切なため、不整地等でエンジン始動直後に段差乗り越え等をすると、横転判定センサのゼロ点がずれることがある。そのため、車両が傾くだけで、横転と誤判定してカーテンシールドエアバッグおよびシートベルトプリテンショナが作動するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、システム起動プログラムを修正したエアバッグコントロールユニットに交換する。
