Defect
In the forward obstacle collision mitigation system (pre-collision brake system), improper parts management for replacement cruise control units with following-distance control resulted in some vehicles being fitted with superseded units. When a guardrail is present along a shoulder or median and the gap to the leading vehicle increases, the unit may rarely misidentify received millimeter-wave radar data as a forward obstacle where no collision risk exists. When this occurs, a warning is displayed on the multi-information display and an audible alert sounds, and an unexpected emergency brake application may occur.
Corrective action
Reprogram the cruise control unit with following-distance control to the corrected/updated software on all vehicles.

状況
前方障害物衝突軽減装置（衝突軽減ブレーキシステム）において、車間機能付クルーズコントロールユニット補修用部品の管理が不適切なため、旧部品が組付けられたものがある。そのため、路肩や中央分離帯等に防護柵があり、先行車との車間距離が離れた際に、受信したミリ波情報を稀に前方障害物と誤認識し、衝突の可能性がないのに、マルチインフォメーションディスプレイに警告表示がされるとともに警告音を発し、予期せぬ急制動がかかるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、車間制御機能付クルーズコントロールユニットのプログラムを対策プログラムに書き換える。
