Defect
On vehicles equipped with a forward collision mitigation control system (collision mitigation brake system), the millimeter-wave radar obstacle detection software is incorrectly calibrated. When guardrails are present on road shoulders or median barriers and the following distance to the preceding vehicle increases, the system may rarely misidentify received radar returns as a forward obstacle. As a result, a warning is displayed on the multi-information display and an audible alert sounds even when no collision risk exists, and unexpected hard braking may be applied.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the forward collision mitigation system obstacle detection software with the corrected updated software.

状況
前方障害物衝突軽減制御装置（衝突軽減ブレーキシステム）装着車において、ミリ波レーダーによる障害物検知プログラムが不適切なため、路肩や中央分離帯に防護柵があり、先行車との車間距離が離れた際に、受信したミリ波情報を稀に前方障害物と誤認識することがある。そのため、衝突の可能性がないのに、マルチインフォメーションディスプレイに警告表示がされるとともに警告音を発し、予期せぬ急制動がかかるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、前方障害物衝突軽減装置の障害物検知プログラムを対策プログラムに書き換える。
