Defect
At the propeller shaft yoke joint, the crimping pressure used to retain the bearing and the shape of the bearing housing are both improper. Heat generated by friction and high loads during driving cause wear inside the bearing. Continued use allows the yoke joint to deteriorate and fail. In the worst case, the vehicle may become inoperable, or the propeller shaft may contact the swing arm and lock the rear wheel.
Corrective action
Replace the propeller shaft on all vehicles with a corrected part. As an interim measure while corrected parts are being prepared, inspect the propeller shaft on all vehicles. Any vehicle found to have a malfunctioning yoke joint shall have the propeller shaft replaced with a new unit.

状況
プロペラシャフトのヨークジョイント部において、ベアリング抜け防止のかしめ圧及びベアリングを保持するハウジングの形状が不適切なため、走行時の摩擦による熱や高い負荷によりベアリング内部が摩耗するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、ヨークジョイント部が破損して、最悪の場合、走行不能となったり、プロペラシャフトがスイングアームと干渉し、リヤホイールがロックするおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、プロペラシャフトを対策品に交換する。ただし、対策品の供給に時間を要することから、当面の暫定措置として、全車両、プロペラシャフトを点検し、ヨークジョイント部の作動不良が確認されたものについては、プロペラシャフトを新品に交換する。
