Defect
On heavy-duty trucks equipped with a 12-speed mechanical automatic transmission, the transmission control program is incorrect. This may cause the transmission control warning lamp to illuminate and shift faults to occur. Because shift faults can be cleared by a reset operation, roadside breakdown will not result.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the transmission control computer with the corrected/updated software. If the required programming tool (cable, etc.) is not available in time, replace the ECU assembly instead. Vehicles equipped with an INOMAT-II ECU that is incompatible with the corrected/updated software must have that ECU replaced with a unit compatible with the corrected/updated software. Additionally, attach a resulting label near the console box forward of the shift lever describing the recovery procedure in the event of a shift fault.

状況
１２段機械式自動変速機を搭載した大型トラックにおいて、 ③トランスミッション制御プログラムが不適切なため、トランスミッション制御の警告灯が点灯してシフト不良が生じるおそれがある。なお、シフト不良が生じてもリセット操作によってシフト不良は解消するため、路上故障には至らない。
改善措置
③トランスミッション制御プログラムを対策プログラムに書換える。 なお、制御プログラム書換え用ツール（ケーブル等）の準備に時間を要するため、当該ツールが間に合わなかった場合は、ＥＣＵ本体を交換する。 また、対策プログラムに適応しないＩＮＯＭＡＴ－Ⅱ ＥＣＵを搭載している車両は、当該ＥＣＵを対策プログラムに適応するＥＣＵに交換する。 更に、シフト不良が発生した場合の復帰方法について、コーションラベルをシフトレバー前方のコンソールボックス付近に貼付ける。
