Defect

On large trucks whose fuel system has been converted from diesel to CNG, the ignition coil has insufficient durability. This causes the ignition system to lose the ability to deliver adequate spark output early in service life, which may result in backfires or afterfires. Continued use under these conditions may cause the throttle valve to deform due to backfire pressure. In the worst case, the vehicle may become inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the ignition system with the corrected/revised part.

状況

燃料装置を軽油からCNGに変更した大型トラックにおいて、点火装置のイグニッションコイルの耐久性が不足しているため、早期に十分な点火をすることができなくなり、バックファイアーやアフターファイアーが発生するおそれがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、バックファイアーによりスロットルバルブが変形して、最悪の場合、走行不能に至るおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、点火装置を対策品に交換する。
