Defect
On buses, bolt and nut tips protrude from the rear face of the distribution panel and contact the electrical wiring routed behind it. Continued use causes the wiring insulation to wear through. In the worst case, a short circuit occurs and results in a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
Inspect all vehicles. Repair any damaged electrical wiring, and apply protective material over the protruding bolt and nut tips on the rear face of the distribution panel.
