Filing in context
This notification is a joint filing by 3 manufacturers: Isuzu, Mitsubishi & Nissan.
The Turn signal is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 26 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 46 Isuzu notifications from 2013 in this archive. For scale, 3,391 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles.
Defect
In the Body Control Module (BCM) that governs electrical component operation, an improperly designed circuit allows electrical noise generated during door lock operation to damage the turn signal transistor, causing the turn signal to remain illuminated continuously. In the worst case, the transistor may overheat and burn, leading to a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the BCM with a corrected part.
