Defect
On vehicles fitted with an aftermarket auto-light unit, a circuit mismatch between the aftermarket unit and the vehicle's electrical system causes the instrument panel illumination and other interior lighting to remain off when the auto-light is active.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the installed aftermarket components. Where applicable, retrofit the auto-light wiring using the corrected wiring harness.
