Defect
During final inspection at the vehicle manufacturing plant, pass/fail determinations were made by inspectors who had not been appointed as certified final inspectors. As a result, inspections related to the Safety Standards for road vehicles were not conducted appropriately.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, an inspection and confirmation by a certified vehicle inspector will be conducted at a designated maintenance facility. Any non-conformances with the Safety Standards for road vehicles that are identified will be corrected.
