Defect
At the joint between the steering shaft and the steering valve shaft, the specified tightening torque for the clamp bolt was set incorrectly during design, resulting in under-torqued bolts on produced vehicles. Continued use allows the clamp bolt to loosen, enabling the shaft at the joint to disengage, which may cause a complete loss of steering control.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, verify whether the shaft retaining pin is present. On vehicles without a retaining pin, replace the shaft with the corrected part. On all vehicles, apply thread-locking compound to the clamp bolt and retighten to the specified torque.

状況
かじ取り装置のステアリングシャフトとステアリングバルブシャフトの締結部において、締付ボルトの締付トルク指示が不適切なため、締付ボルトの締付トルクが不足しており、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、締付ボルトが緩み、締結部の締結部シャフトが外れ、かじ取り操作ができなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、締結部シャフトの抜け止めピンの有無の仕様を確認し、抜け止めピンのない仕様のものは、当該シャフトを対策品と交換する。また、全車両、締付ボルトに緩み止めを塗布し、規定トルクで再締め付けを行う。
