Defect
In the engine used in mid-size fire trucks, inadequate cleaning of internal gears during manufacturing allowed foreign material to enter the gear shaft bushings. When firefighting equipment is engaged, the bushing may seize. In the worst case, the engine stalls and cannot be restarted.
Corrective action

状況
中型消防自動車用原動機において、内部ギヤの洗浄が不適切なため、異物がギヤシャフトのブッシュに入り込んだものがある。そのため、消防用設備を駆動すると当該ブッシュが焼付くものがあり、最悪の場合、エンストし再始動不能になるおそれがある。
改善措置
当該エンジンを対策品と交換する。
