Defect
During the fuel tank manufacturing process, moisture removal following the water-submersion airtightness inspection is insufficient, allowing water to remain inside the fuel pump connector on some units. Continued use causes the connector terminals to corrode. In the worst case, a terminal may fracture, disabling the fuel pump, causing the engine to stall while driving and preventing restart.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the affected connector. If water is present inside the connector or rust has formed on the terminals, repair the harness and replace the fuel pump body with a new part.

状況
燃料タンク製造工程において、気密性確認のための水没検査後の水分除去が不十分なため、燃料ポンプのコネクタ内部に水が残留したものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、コネクタの端子が腐食し、最悪の場合、端子が折損して燃料ポンプが作動しなくなり、走行中にエンジンが停止し再始動できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該コネクタを点検し、コネクタ内部に水が付着しているもの、または端子部に錆が発生しているものはハーネスを補修するとともに、燃料ポンプボデーを新品と交換する。
