Filing in context
This notification is a joint filing by 2 manufacturers: Hino & Isuzu.
The Wiring is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 236 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 23 Hino notifications from 2010 in this archive. For scale, 2,477 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles; the vehicles involved here were manufactured over a span of about 6 years.
Defect
On rear doors equipped with an anti-entrapment device (door-edge switch), the door wiring is improperly routed and may interfere with the door engine rod. Continued operation in this condition can cause a broken wire in the wiring harness. In the worst case, the door may fail to close, rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the door wiring routing. Any wiring found to be improperly routed must be repositioned to the correct location. Any wiring found to be damaged must be repaired.
