Defect

The control software for the Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS) system is improperly calibrated. When the steering wheel is returned quickly after a full-lock stationary turn, the steering neutral position may temporarily shift significantly off-center.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the VGRS computer with a unit containing the corrected control software. Until the replacement is completed, notify vehicle operators of the precautions to observe while driving.

状況

ギヤ比可変ステアリングシステム(VGRS)の制御プログラムが不適切なため、通常の据え切り操作から急ハンドルのような素早い戻し操作をすると、一時的にハンドルの中立位置が大きくずれることがある。

改善措置

全車両、制御プログラムを修正したVGRSコンピュータと交換する。 なお、部品を交換するまでの間、運転時の注意事項を使用者に周知する。
