Defect
On rear-tandem heavy-duty trucks, the axle housing weld on the rear trailing axle (non-drive axle) is improperly made, allowing cracks to develop at the weld. Continued use can cause the axle housing to fracture, leading to brake overheating and contact between the tire and the frame. In the worst case, a vehicle fire may result.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, verify the axle housing serial number. On affected units, inspect the inner weld. Any unit showing a defect must be replaced with a conforming part.

状況
後２軸大型トラックの後々軸（非駆動軸）アクスルハウジングの溶接が不適切なため、当該溶接部に亀裂が発生するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、最悪の場合、当該アクスルハウジングが折損し、ブレーキの過熱やタイヤとフレームの接触が生じて、火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該アクスルハウジングの製造番号を確認し、該当するものは内側溶接部の点検を行い、不具合の認められるものは良品と交換する。
