Defect
In the power transmission system of low-floor route buses, the flange nut on the differential unit is improperly installed, resulting in insufficient clamping force. This causes the flange to loosen, producing abnormal noise and differential oil leaks. Continued operation may result in the propeller shaft separating from the differential unit, rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the flange nut and lock washer with new parts, apply oil to the nut, and torque to specification. If an oil leak is present, also replace the oil seal and O-ring with new parts.

状況
路線バスのノンステップ車の動力伝達装置において、差動装置(デファレンシャルユニット)のフランジナットの取付方法が不適切なため、フランジナットの締結力が不十分となり、フランジが弛み異音の発生及びデファレンシャルオイルが漏れるものがある。そのまま状態で使用を続けると、プロペラシャフトが差動装置から外れ、走行不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、フランジナット及びロックワッシャを新品と交換し、当該ナットにオイルを塗布し、正規トルクで締付ける。なお、オイル漏れがあった場合は、オイルシールとオーリングを新品と交換する。
