Defect
In the variable-nozzle turbocharger fitted to the engine, faulty return operation of the variable nozzle causes the turbine blades to over-speed, generating excessive stress and reducing service life. Continued operation in this condition causes turbine blade damage and white smoke emission. In the worst case, the engine may stall.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the turbocharger with a corrected part and reprogram the control software.

状況
原動機の可変ノズル付過給機において、可変ノズル戻り不良により、タービン翼が過回転となり、高応力が発生し、寿命が短かくなっているものがある。 そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、タービン翼が破損して白煙が発生し、最悪の場合、原動機が停止するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該過給機を対策品と交換並びに制御プログラムを書き換える。
