Defect
The outer handle assembly on the rear sliding door contains a door opening lever that was improperly press-fitted during manufacturing. As a result, the lever may fail to return to its resting position after the door is closed, preventing the door from latching securely. In the worst case, the door may open while the vehicle is in motion.
Corrective action
On all affected vehicles, replace the door outer handle assembly with a conforming replacement unit.
