Defect
On the diesel engine fuel injection pump, the eye bolt (a piping bolt) that returns fuel to the fuel tank was insufficiently torqued. Engine movement causes the bolt to repeatedly contact an adjacent rubber hose protective cover; over time, this contact loosens the bolt further. Continued use may result in a fuel leak.
Corrective action
Inspect all vehicles for fuel leaks at the affected connection. If no leak is present, retighten the bolt to the specified torque. If a leak is present, replace the sealing washer at the joint with a new part and reinstall the bolt to the specified torque.

状況
ディーゼルエンジンの燃料噴射ポンプにおいて、燃料を燃料タンクへ戻すアイボルト(配管用ボルト)の締付力が不足している。そのため、エンジンの揺動により、隣接するゴムホースの保護部材との干渉が繰り返されると当該ボルトが緩むことがあり、そのまま使用を続けると、燃料が漏れるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該部からの燃料漏れの有無を点検し、漏れがない場合、当該ボルトを適切な締付力で増し締めする。漏れがあるものは、締結部のワッシャを新品と交換し、当該ボルトを適切な締付力で組付ける。
