Defect

The fuel injection pump drive gear in the engine is improperly designed. Under high-load conditions such as snow removal operations, the drive gear vibrates and generates excessive stress on the camshaft to which it is mounted. Continued operation may cause the camshaft to fracture, preventing the fuel injection pump from supplying fuel, causing the engine to stall and the vehicle to become inoperable.

Corrective action

As an interim measure while a corrected part is being validated, replace the fuel injection pump drive gear with a damper-equipped gear and replace the fuel injection pump with a new unit on all vehicles.

状況

原動機の燃料噴射ポンプ駆動ギヤの構造が不適切なため、除雪作業時の高負荷時等に駆動ギヤが振動し、当該ギヤが取り付けられているカム軸に高応力が発生するものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、カム軸が折損し、燃料噴射ポンプから燃料を供給できなくなり、エンジンが停止し走行不能となるおそれがある。

改善措置

対策品の検証に時間を要するため、当面の暫定措置として、全車両、燃料噴射ポンプ駆動ギヤをダンパー付ギヤに交換し、燃料噴射ポンプも新品に交換する。
