Defect

When a front or rear turn signal fails, the driver's seat turn signal indicator does not activate to alert the driver of the malfunction.

Corrective action

1. Vehicles with added rear turn signals, or with both turn signals and auxiliary turn signals added: replace or add a load-sensing relay (increased-load relay) to the turn signal control circuit, or add a relay to the side turn signal. 2. Vehicles under 8 tonnes GVW with added rear turn signals for which no increased-load relay is available: remove the added turn signal, install a red reflector or tail lamp in the same position, and add an amber auxiliary lamp linked to the tail lamp at a height of 2.5 m or more above ground. 3. Vehicles with added auxiliary turn signals: replace the auxiliary turn signal bulb with a 6 W bulb, or replace or add an increased-load relay to the turn signal control circuit.
