Defect

On large route buses equipped with a horizontally mounted CNG engine, the engine mounting bracket is incorrectly shaped. As the engine mounting rubber deteriorates, the bracket contacts the exhaust manifold. Continued use causes the manifold mounting bolts to work loose, allowing engine oil to drip from the bolt holes onto the manifold, which in the worst case can result in a vehicle fire.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the engine mounting bracket with a corrected part and replace the engine mounting rubber with a new unit. In addition, inspect the exhaust manifold and its mounting bolts and replace any that show abnormalities with new parts.

状況

大型路線バスの水平置きCNG原動機搭載車において、原動機固定用ブラケットの形状が不適切なため、原動機固定用ラバーが劣化すると、原動機固定用ブラケットとエキゾーストマニホールドが干渉するものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、当該マニホールドの取付けボルトが外れ、当該ボルト穴より原動機オイルがマニホールドに滴下し、最悪の場合、発火に至るおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、原動機固定用ブラケットを対策品に交換すると共に、原動機固定用ラバーを新品に交換する。又、エキゾーストマニホールド及び取付けボルトを点検し、異常のあるものは新品に交換する。
