Defect
Improper heat treatment of the aluminum air tank that supplies compressed air to the brake system may cause surface cracks to develop. Continued use allows the cracks to propagate through the tank wall, causing compressed air to escape. In the worst case, braking force becomes insufficient.
Corrective action
Inspect all vehicles. Replace any two-piece aluminum air tank with a corrected part.

状況
制動装置に作動用の圧縮空気を供給するアルミ製空気タンクにおいて、当該タンクの熱処 理が不適切なため、表面に亀裂が発生するものがあり、そのままの状態で使用を続けると 、亀裂が内部まで進行して、圧縮空気が抜けることがあり、最悪の場合、制動装置におい て、制動力が不足するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両点検し、2部品構成のアルミ製空気タンクは対策品と交換する。
