Filing in context
The Fuse is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 16 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 70 Mitsubishi notifications from 2006 in this archive. For scale, 3,424 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles.
Defect
During manufacturing, an improper inspection jig was used to test continuity of the power circuit between terminals in the engine compartment fuse box. The jig deformed the low-beam headlight terminals during inspection. Continued use may cause poor contact in that circuit, resulting in the low-beam headlights failing to illuminate.
Corrective action
Inspect the affected terminals in the fuse box on all vehicles. Correct any deformed terminals.
