Defect
The passenger-side airbag is improperly folded during assembly. During the initial stage of deployment, the bag contacts the side walls of the case, creating resistance that prevents full inflation. This causes internal pressure to rise and, in the worst case, the airbag may tear at its sewn seams, reducing occupant protection performance.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the passenger-side airbag with the corrected part.

状況
助手席エアバッグの折りたたみ方法が不適切なため、当該エアバッグの作動展開初期時にケースの横壁との接触抵抗により十分展開しない場合がある。そのため、エアバッグの内圧が上昇し、最悪の場合、エアバッグが縫製部より破れ、乗員保護性能が低下するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、助手席エアバッグを対策品と交換する。
