Defect

The rear leaf springs were manufactured using an improper process, causing localized deformation in the center section of the spring on some units. Stress concentrates at the deformed area, causing the paint to peel and allowing corrosion from road salts and other de-icing agents. A crack initiates at the deformed area and, with continued use, propagates through the spring. In the worst case, the spring may fracture, rendering the vehicle inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the rear leaf springs with corrected parts.

状況

後輪用リーフスプリングの加工方法が不適切なため、当該スプリングの中央部が局部的に変形しているものがある。そのため、変形部の応力が高くなり、塗装が剥がれ融雪剤等により腐食して変形部から亀裂が発生し、そのまま使用を続けると亀裂が進行し、最悪の場合、当該スプリングが折損し、走行できなくなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、後輪用リーフスプリングを対策品に交換する。
