Defect
In the common rail fuel injection system, cleanliness management during the fuel feed pump assembly process is inadequate. Foreign matter may become lodged in the pump's overflow valve. When the vehicle is operated in cold conditions, air is drawn in through the fuel return line, interrupting fuel supply to the feed pump and causing the engine to stall. The vehicle may then be unable to restart. (Note: This recall amends notification No. 1506, filed September 7, 2005. An error was identified in the tabulation of affected vehicles; the vehicle type codes, vehicle identification numbers, production dates, and total unit count have been corrected accordingly. January 25, 2006.)
Corrective action
Inspect the return fuel flow rate of the fuel feed pump on all vehicles. If the flow rate is below the specified value, replace the fuel feed pump with a serviceable unit.

状況
蓄圧式燃料噴射システムの燃料圧送ポンプにおいて、製造時等の組立工程における清浄度の管理が不適切なため、当該ポンプのオーバーフローバルブ内に異物が詰まるものがある。そのため、低温時に使用すると、燃料リターン配管から空気を吸い込み、燃料圧送ポンプへの燃料供給が停止するため、エンジンが停止、再始動不能に至るおそれがある。 （備考）本件は平成１７年９月７日にリコール届出番号「１５０６」で届出を行ったものですが、対象車両の集計に一部誤りがあることが判明したため、型式、車台番号、製作期間及び台数を訂正するものです。（平成１８年１月２５日）
改善措置
全車両、燃料圧送ポンプのリターン燃料流量を点検し、規定値以下の場合は燃料圧送ポンプを良品と交換する。
