Defect
The coolant hose on the fluid-type auxiliary retarder mounted to the transmission lacks sufficient durability. Vibration during vehicle operation may cause cracks to form in the hose or cause the hose to separate from its fitting, resulting in a large loss of engine coolant. In the worst case, this leads to engine seizure and the vehicle becomes inoperable.
Corrective action
On all affected vehicles, replace the coolant hose with a corrected part. On a subset of vehicles where the oil cooler is installed in a different location, also replace the surrounding component assembly connecting the hose with corrected parts.

状況
変速機に装着されている流体式補助制動装置の冷却水ホースの耐久性が不足しているため、走行時の振動等により亀裂が発生し、また、ホースが抜けるものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、エンジン冷却水が大量に流出し、最悪の場合、エンジンが焼付き、走行不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、冷却水ホースを対策品と交換する。また、オイルクーラーの設置場所が異なる一部の車両については、ホースをつなぐ周辺部品一式も併せて対策品と交換する。
