Defect
During axle assembly, the lock nut securing the front wheel hub outer bearing may have been improperly torqued, and the grease fill quantity in the front wheel hub outer bearing and hub body may be insufficient. Improper torque or inadequate lubrication can cause the bearing to overheat and sustain damage. In the worst case, the vehicle may become inoperable or a vehicle fire may occur.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the affected bearing with a new unit, refill grease to the newly specified quantity, and retorque the lock nut using the correct procedure specified in the service manual.

状況
車軸組み立ての際、前輪ハブ外側軸受け部のロックナット締め付けが不適切なもの及び 前輪ハブ外側軸受け部と前輪ハブ胴部のグリース充填量が不足しているものがある。その ため、当該軸受けが締め付け不良または、潤滑不良により発熱、破損し、最悪の場合、走 行不能または、火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該軸受けを新品に交換し、新しく定めた規定量のグリースを再充填する。また 、当該部ロックナットを整備要領に基づく正規の方法で締め付ける。
