Defect

The balance machining of the engine turbocharger impeller blades was performed incorrectly on certain units, reducing blade strength. This can cause a portion of the blade to break off, resulting in a loss of engine output. Continued operation in this condition may, in the worst case, cause the blades to fracture, allowing engine oil to flow into the intake manifold and into the engine, causing engine speed to increase uncontrollably.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, verify the turbocharger serial number and replace affected units with conforming replacements.

状況

①エンジンのターボ翼のバランス取り加工が不適切なため、当該翼の強度が低下している  ものがある。そのため、当該翼の一部が欠損して出力低下し、そのままの状態で使用を  続けると、最悪の場合、当該翼が破損してエンジンオイルが吸気管からエンジンに流れ  込み、エンジンの回転が上昇するおそれがある。

改善措置

①全車両、ターボのシリアル番号を確認し、対象のものは良品と交換する。
