Defect
On turbocharged manual transmission vehicles, the cover mounting bolts for the oil control valve (OCV), which hydraulically controls intake valve timing, have insufficient clamping force. Under sustained high-load, high-rpm operation, negative pressure inside the engine increases and the OCV gasket deforms, further reducing bolt clamping force. The bolts may then loosen, allowing engine oil to leak. In the worst case, this may result in a vehicle fire. (Note: This filing adds newly identified vehicles to the recall originally filed on September 15, 2004, under Notification No. 1220.)
Corrective action
On all vehicles, the OCV cover bolts are retorqued to the specified value.

状況
ターボチャージャー付手動変速機車両において、エンジン吸気バルブ開閉タイミングを 油圧で制御するためのオイルコントロールバルブ(OCV)のカバー締付ボルトの軸力が低 いため、高負荷高回転を継続して使用した場合、エンジン内部の負圧が増大し、OCVのガ スケットの変形により当該ボルトの軸力が更に低下することがある。そのため、当該ボル トが緩みエンジンオイルが漏れ、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。 (備考) 本届出は、平成16年9月15日「届出番号1220」のリコール届出に、新たに対象車 を追加するものである。
改善措置
全車両、当該ボルトを増し締めする。
