Defect
In the lock system for the double-leaf rear doors, the return spring force acting on the lock that engages the catch, and the reaction force of the weather strip, are set incorrectly. When the doors are closed slowly, the engagement depth between the lock and catch may be insufficient. If the vehicle continues to be operated in this condition, vibration during driving may cause the engagement to release and the double-leaf doors to open.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the lock assembly, catch, and weather strip with corrected parts. In conjunction with optimizing the lock system spring force, replace the outer handle and control assembly, and add a reinforcement plate to the lock mounting panel.

状況
②車体後面に設けている観音開き扉のロックシステムにおいて、キャッチと噛み合うロックをもどすばねの押しもどし力の設定及びウェザーストリップの反力が不適切なため、扉をゆっくり閉めた場合、当該ロックとキャッチの噛み合い代が不十分となることがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、最悪の場合、走行時の振動などで噛み合いが外れ、観音開き扉が開放するおそれがある。 本件は、平成16年9月22日付「届出番号1228」にてリコール届出を行ったものですが、対象車の選定に一部誤りがあったため、対象車両を追加、車台番号を訂正し、新たに届出するものです。(平成18年1月18日)
改善措置
②全車両、ロック一式、キャッチ、ウェザートリップを対策品に交換する。 なお、ロックシステムのばね力適正化に伴い、アウターハンドル、コントロール一式を変 更し、ロック取付部パネルに補強プレートを追加する。
