Defect
On vehicles equipped with a spring-type parking brake, the sealant applied at the connection between the brake chamber body and the wheel cylinder is improperly applied, allowing water to enter the chamber and wheel cylinder. Continued use can cause the wheel cylinder internals and wedge to rust and fracture, or to freeze in winter conditions, resulting in parking brake malfunction.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the brake chamber assembly and wheel cylinder assembly with corrected parts. As an interim measure while corrected parts are being sourced, inspect parking brake operation on all vehicles; replace immediately on any vehicle exhibiting malfunction, and schedule replacement on vehicles operating correctly.

状況
スプリング式駐車ブレーキ装着車において、チャンバー本体とホイールシリンダとの接続 部のシール材の塗布が不適切なため、チャンバー及びホイールシリンダ内に水が浸入する ことがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、ホイールシリンダ内部及びウ ェッジが錆びついて破損し、あるいは、冬期に凍結し、駐車ブレーキが作動不良となるお それがある。
改善措置
全車両、ブレーキチャンバー一式とホイールシリンダ一式を対策品と交換する。 なお、対策品の全数供給に時間を要することから、当面の暫定措置として、駐車ブレーキ の作動確認の点検を実施し、作動不良のあるものは対策品と交換し、問題のない車両は後 日対策品と交換する。
