Defect
The groove machining that prevents the oil seal from backing out of its mounting location on the drive shaft of the power steering oil pump is improper. As a result, the oil seal may back out of position. When this occurs, the seal no longer separates the engine oil from the power steering oil, allowing engine oil to contaminate the power steering oil and causing oil to leak from the power steering oil tank. In the worst case, the leaking oil may contact the exhaust pipe and cause a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the power steering oil pump with a corrected part.

状況
②パワステアリングオイルポンプの駆動軸のオイルシール（エンジンオイルとパワステア リングオイルを分離するためのもの）の取付部について、抜け出し防止用の溝加工が不適 切なため、オイルシールが抜け出しているものがある。そのため、シール機能が働かず、 エンジンオイルがパワステアリングオイルに混入してパワステアリングオイルタンクから オイルが漏れ、最悪の場合、排気管に飛散し火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、パワステアリングオイルポンプを対策品と交換する。
