Defect
The surface treatment on the inner surface of the cam (movable oil compression cylinder) inside the power steering oil pump is improper. Friction during operation raises the temperature of the sliding surface, causing the cam to deform and develop surface scoring. Continued use in this condition can cause the cam to fracture during full steering lock input, resulting in loss of hydraulic power assist and loss of steering control.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the power steering oil pump with a corrected part.

状況
①パワステアリングオイルポンプのカム（可動オイル圧縮シリンダ）内面の表面処理が不 適切なため、作動による摩擦で摺動面温度が上昇して当該カムが変形し、表面に傷が生じ ることがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、かじを大きく切った場合に カムが破損して、油圧倍力機能が失われて、かじ取り操作ができなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、パワステアリングオイルポンプを対策品と交換する。
