Defect
Certain bolts at the junction between the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe were insufficiently torqued during assembly. These bolts may loosen, allowing exhaust gas to leak at the joint. Leaking exhaust gas exposes the nylon tubing of the air line to extreme heat, which may melt the tubing. If the tubing melts, air pressure is lost, the emergency brake activates, and the vehicle becomes inoperable.
Corrective action
1. Inspect all vehicles for proper torque at the exhaust pipe joint and for exhaust gas leaks; correct any under-torqued fasteners or leaks found. 2. Replace any air line nylon tubing that shows damage. 3. Install a heat shield adjacent to the exhaust pipe joint on all vehicles.

状況
排気マニホールドと排気管結合部のボルトに締め付け不良のものがあるため、緩みを生 じ排気ガス漏れが発生する恐れがある。 さらに漏れた排気ガスによりエアー配管のナイロンチューブが高温にさらされて、最悪 の場合、当該チューブが溶損しエアー漏れにより非常ブレーキが作動し、走行不能となる 恐れがある。
改善措置
１．全車両、排気管結合部の締め付け状況と排気ガス漏れの有無について点検を行い、締 め付け不良又はガス漏れがあった場合修正する。 ２．エアー配管のチューブに損傷のあるものは交換する。 ３．全車両、排気管結合部近接部に遮熱板を取り付ける。
