Defect
The tie rod of the steering linkage has insufficient wall thickness, leaving no margin against corrosion. On vehicles operated for many years on roads treated with de-icing salt, corrosion progressively reduces the tie rod wall thickness. In the worst case, the tie rod may fracture, resulting in loss of steering control.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the affected tie rod with the corrected part.

状況
かじ取装置のタイロッドの肉厚に余裕がないため、融雪塩を散布している道路を長年走 行している場合には、腐食によりタイロッドの肉厚が減少するものがある。そのため、最 悪の場合、タイロッドが折損して操舵不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該タイロッドを対策品と交換する。
