Defect
The drive belt for the power steering hydraulic pump is installed with excessive tension, damaging the pump bearing and causing hydraulic fluid to leak. Continued operation increases steering effort. In the worst case, inadequate lubrication may cause the pump to overheat, resulting in a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the hydraulic pump and drive belt with new parts. On vehicles where hydraulic fluid has leaked from the pump, also replace the steering gear box and hydraulic lines with new parts.

状況
かじ取り装置において、パワーステアリング用油圧ポンプの駆動用ベルト組付時の張力 に過大なものがあるため、当該ポンプの軸受部が損傷し作動油が漏れ、そのままの状態で 使用を続けるとハンドルの操作力が増大し、最悪の場合、当該ポンプが潤滑不良により過 熱して火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、油圧ポンプと駆動用ベルトを新品と交換する。 また、当該ポンプより作動油が漏れているものは、ギヤボックスと油圧配管を新品と交換 する。
