Defect
On vehicles equipped with aluminum fuel tanks, two separate defects may cause fuel leakage. (1) The cushioning rubber bonded to the fuel tank mounting hanger is insufficiently adhered. Continued use allows the rubber to detach, causing the tank and hanger to contact each other. This contact damages the tank and may cause a crack to form. In the worst case, fuel may leak. (2) The shape of the positioning protrusion on the fuel tank is incorrect, resulting in insufficient strength in the area around that protrusion. Vehicle vibration may cause a crack to develop in the tank. In the worst case, fuel may leak.
Corrective action
Vehicles affected only by defect (1): Replace the rubber-equipped hanger with a conforming part on all vehicles, then inspect the rubber. If the rubber has detached, replace the fuel tank with a new unit. Vehicles affected only by defect (2): Replace the fuel tank with a corrected part on all vehicles. Vehicles affected by both defects (1) and (2): Replace the rubber-equipped hanger with a conforming part and replace the fuel tank with a corrected part on all vehicles.

状況
アルミ製燃料タンク搭載車において、 ①燃料タンクを車両に固定するハンガーの緩衝用ラバーの接着が不十分なため、そのまま の状態で使用を続けると、ラバーが剥がれてタンクとハンガーが干渉することにより、 タンクが損傷し、亀裂が発生することがあり、最悪の場合、燃料が漏れるおそれがある 。 ②燃料タンクの位置決め用凸部の形状が不適切なことから当該凸部付近の強度が不足して いるため、車両の振動により、タンクに亀裂が発生することがあり、最悪の場合、燃料 が漏れるおそれがある。
改善措置
①の不具合にのみ該当する車両は、全車両、ラバー付きハンガーを良品と交換するととも に、当該ラバーを点検し、ラバーが剥がれているものは、燃料タンクを新品と交換する 。 ②の不具合にのみ該当する車両は、全車両、燃料タンクを対策品と交換する。 ①と②の不具合に該当する車両は、全車両、ラバー付きハンガーを良品と交換するととも に、燃料タンクを対策品と交換する。
