Defect

On compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles, the weld joints on the fuel tank mounting bands have insufficient strength. Continued use may cause the welds to fracture, allowing the fuel tank to shift. In the worst case, this may damage the fuel pipes, resulting in a fuel leak.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, install reinforcing bands.

状況

圧縮天然ガス車(CNG車)の燃料装置において、燃料タンク固定金具(バンド)の 溶接部の強度が不足しているため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、当該溶接部分が 破損し、燃料タンクがずれることから、最悪の場合、燃料パイプが損傷して、燃料が漏れ るおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、補強バンドを追加する。
