Defect

The injector driver—the electronic control unit that regulates fuel injection precision—is mounted in an incorrect position on the vehicle body. Continued driving on unpaved roads causes vibration to fracture the wiring at the internal boost capacitor mounting point. In the worst case, the engine may stall while driving, leaving the vehicle inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, fill the gap between the internal boost capacitor and the injector driver case with silicone bond.
